
Good Morning La Promesa Families. Tomorrow, May 19th, we will be having Fragile Planet visit our school to share some animals with our students. A permission was sent home earlier this week for students to attend. If your child has not returned the permission slip, they will not be able to attend the presentation. The permission slip also has a place to order pictures from the presentation, but a purchase is not required. We have extra permission slips in the office if needed. Good Evening La Promesa Families. We have two events happening at school tomorrow, Wednesday May 10th! First we will have our Road Runner Food Distribution at 2:00 in the cafeteria, and then our annual Mother Son Dance will be at 5:30 in the gym. The theme for the dance is Mardi Gras, so get out your Mardi Gras beads and join us for some fun!

Good Evening La Promesa Families. We have a busy week here at La Promesa. Wednesday, May 10th, we will have our Road Runner Food Bank distribution at 2:00 in the cafeteria. On Thursday May 11th, we will welcome former La Promesa students who are graduating this year to come walk the halls and be cheered by our staff and students for their achievement. On Thursday, we will also be celebrating our Pre K students' promotion to Kindergarten. The celebration will be at 1:30 in the cafeteria. Then on Friday we will celebrate our Kindergarteners who are moving into 1st grade, also at 1:30 in the cafeteria. We are looking forward to seeing you at these events.

Hello La Promesa Families. We will be having our annual Grad Walk on Thursday May 11th at 10:00. If you have a graduating senior, or know one, who attended La Promesa, please call our office at 505-966-2400 so that we can be sure to invite the Grads to celebrate with our students on the 11th.

Good Evening La Promesa Families. This Friday, May 5th, our 6th grade students will be presenting their projects, "Our Goals and Visions for the Future" , from 2:00-3:30 in the cafeteria. If you would like to see the presentations, please come to the office to check in.

We really need your input to make La Promesa the best possible school for our community. Please take moment to fill out the survey if you haven't already. If we can get 30 more surveys tonight, all students will receive a prize tomorrow. Thank you for your support.

Good Evening La Promesa Families. Our fifth grade students will start their New Mexico Measures of Student Success and Achievement tomorrow, April 13th. They will be taking this assessment tomorrow and Friday. It is important that students be here on time ready to show what they know!

Hello La Promesa Families. We wish everyone a wonderful April Break. There is no school tomorrow April 7th or Monday April 10th. We'll see students back on Tuesday April 11th. Our 4th graders will finish up their testing on Tuesday and our 5th graders will start on Thursday the 13th. Have a great break.

Good Evening. We are pleased to announce that our third grade students had perfect attendance for testing this week! Great job third grade! We hope all our fourth grade students are here tomorrow and Tuesday to show what they know on these important assessments!

Good Evening La Promesa Families. We are starting the state assessment, New Mexico Measures of Student Success and Achievement, tomorrow April 3rd. Our 3rd graders will be taking the assessment on April 3rd and 4th and our 4th graders will start on Thursday April 6th. It is important that students be on time to school and ready to show what they know. Thank you for supporting our students' achievement.

Hello 6th grade parents:
We will be holding a spring immunization clinic for all 6th graders that need Tdap, Meningococcal and HPV (optional). These immunizations are required for enrollment in 7th grade. These spring immunization clinics will be held April 13th-19th (dates will vary depending on the school).
If you would like your student to receive these vaccines free of charge, please fill out and return the permission slip. Permission slips will be going home March 21st and need to be returned no later than April 4th. Reminder your student will not be able to enroll in 7th grade without these immunizations.

Good Evening La Promesa Families. We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Week this week to promote reading! On Monday we'll be Reading "Fox in Socks" and wearing silly socks. On Tuesday we'll wear green and read "Green Eggs and Ham". Then we'll have wacky Wednesday and wear wacky clothes. On Thursday we'll read the classic "Cat in the Hat" and wear our favorite hats. We'll end the week with "If I Ran the Zoo" and wearing animal print clothes. We are looking forward to celebrating reading this week.
