Good Morning La Promesa Families. Our beginning of the year testing starts next week, Students in grades K-2 will be taking the Amira Reading and Math assessments, and grades 3rd to 6th will take the Interim Measures of Students Success and Achievement. These assessments will give us important information on our students’ achievement to help us plan instruction. Thank you for your support in having students here and on time.

Los estudiantes de kínder a segundo grado tomarán las evaluaciones de lectura y matemáticas de Amira, y los de tercero a sexto grado tomarán las Medidas Interinas del Éxito y Logro Estudiantil. Estas evaluaciones nos darán información importante sobre el rendimiento de nuestros estudiantes, lo que nos ayudará a planear la instrucción. Our wonderful Coach Skinner is stepping down from coaching our boy’s district basketball team, and we are in need of a new coach The season lasts from September through October and requires about fours a week after school. If there is anyone in our school community interested in coaching, please call our office at 505-966-2400.

Good Afternoon La Promesa Families. We are off to a great start to our school year! One exciting thing happening here in Belen Consolidated Schools is the adoption of the PAX program. PAX is a set of strategies that help build a peaceful and positive environment in our schools that allows students to grow and strive. Here at La Promesa, we will be having a short assembly tomorrow morning at 9:15 in our gym to talk about some of pieces we are implementing from PAX. Families are welcome to join us to learn about this new program. We are looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning.
