Good Afternoon La Promesa Families. Belen Consolidated Schools is implementing the Raptor security system beginning Monday February 6, 2023. This system requires all adults entering the school to provide identification. Please be aware that if you are coming to school you will need to have identification to present at the front window or you will not be allowed to enter the building. Good Evening La Promesa Families. We hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing winter break. We are looking forward to seeing all our Kindergarten to 6th grade students tomorrow January 5th to start our second semester. For K to 6th grade students, tomorrow is a regular schedule day-starting at 8:50 with dismissal at 4:00. Our Pre K students will return on Monday January 9th. Our Learning Through Games Club will be meeting tomorrow and Friday and our other after school clubs will return next week. Please call our office between 8:00 and 4:00 if you have any questions. Free Tutoring for PreK-8 Students PED announces its new tutoring service in partnership with Paper that focuses on mathematics, language arts and science. The program offers students in grades preK-8 from New Mexico Title I Schools access to free academic support from tutors on a secure platform. All Belen Consolidated Schools’ students who choose to participate will receive 20 hours of tutoring at no cost to families. Good Evening La Promesa families. We will be having our Winter Festival on Tuesday December 20th from 5:30-7:00. Our Music teacher, Mr. Sivertson, has been working with all our students on performing holiday songs at the Festival. Our Pre-K through 1st grade students will start the performances at 5:35 and our other grades will follow. Please have students at school by 5:30 for the performances if they are able to participate. We will also have our Luminaria Tour, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies sales and a basket raffle. It will be a wonderful evening, and we are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Good Morning La Promesa Families. Tomorrow, Thursday November 17th, our cafeteria will be serving Thanksgiving lunch to students. Unfortunately parents cannot buy a lunch, but you can sit with your students in the cafeteria at lunch time if you like. We will have cookies and juice for visitors. Our lunch schedule will be 11:30 for PreK to 2nd grade, 12:00 for 3rd and 4th, and 12:30 for 5th and 6th. Please check in at the office if you would like to join us. Thank you.

Good Evening La Promesa Families. Tomorrow, October 31st, we will be having our Halloween Parade at 9:00 in our courtyard and families are welcome to come and see the parade. Students may wear costumes, however please remember, no costumes with blood or weapons are allowed and masks can only be worn during the parade. See you tomorrow.

Good Evening La Promesa Families. It's Red Ribbon Week! Help us celebrate a drug free life! Monday-Celebrate Life and wear red. Tuesday-Give Drugs the Boot and wear western clothes. Wednesday-be Too Healthy for Drugs and wear athletic wear. Thursday-Cap Off Drugs and wear a cap or other hat, and on Friday--have the Super Power to Stay Away from Drugs and wear super hero clothes. On October 31st, we will Say Boo to Drugs and wear costumes to school. More information on our Halloween parade will be sent out later this week. We're looking forward to a great Red Ribbon Week.

Good Evening La Promesa Families. We are very excited to have afterschool programs this year in addition to our RGEC program. We have a Learning Through Games club that meets from 4:00-5:00 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This club is for students in grades Kindergarten to 6th. We also have a Sports club for students in grades 4th to 6th that meets from 4:00-5:30 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Currently they are playing basketball, but they will play other sports later in the year. We are very excited to announce our newest club, Open Computer Lab Time! Students in grades Kindergarten to 6th grade can come in and use our computer lab on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00. The lab is also open to adults. If an adult family member would like to come in and use the computers at that time, they are welcome. We will have two staff members to provide support with using the computers as well. Flyers were sent home yesterday about the Open Computer Lab. Finally, we are happy to say we will have bus transportation home at 5:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We will have one bus to transport students, so they will not be using our regular bus stops. If your child will be using the bus, please contact our office so that we can work out our stops to safely transport students. Please call the office with any questions about our afterschool programs.

Good Morning La Promesa Families. As you may have heard on the news, there is a TikTok challenge going around about eating hot chips-the one chip challenge. Students have gotten sick from eating these chips. They are not allowed on school grounds. Thank you for supporting the safety of our students by keeping these chips away from school.
