We have followed all directives given by the New Mexico Department of Health to provide a safe environment for our students. All individuals that were in close contact with the individual that tested positive have been quarantined and will be tested for COVID-19. All areas of the school building will be open on Monday, October 5th, and we will keep you updated with any new information. The safety of our students always remains our top priority.

Belen Consolidated Schools has confirmed one employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee works at La Promesa Elementary School, which is located in Veguita, NM. With an abundance of caution the district is closing the front office and dining area for 24 hours for a deep cleaning. Both areas will be reopened on Monday, October 5th, 2020. On Thursday, September 24, 2020, at 11:00 am., Gil Sanchez Elementary School was officially announced as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School.
It is amazing to see that Gil Sanchez will be nationally recognized for all their efforts and success.

Good Evening. The Rio Grande Educational Cooperative is offering a before and after school programs for our students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The program is from 6:45 to 9:00 in the mornings and 3:30 to 5:00 in the afternoons. We have registration information available in the office.
