Unsubstantiated rumors have been going around and were reported to Belen Police Department last night regarding a threat of violence at BMS. After the Belen PD investigation, the claim was determined to be rumors. As a precaution we will have an extra presence by the SROs and BCS security.

Good Evening Eagle Parents, this coming Wednesday, August 9, 2023, The President of the United States will be traveling to New Mexico, thru Valencia County. He is expected be passing thru the Belen Consolidated School District at approximately 12:00 noon and expected exit at or around 2:00 PM. Because of security, we do not know the route he will be taking and expect road closures at or around these proposed times. We are taking precautionary measures regarding student transportation. The Rio Grande Elementary PM (Afternoon) Pre-K class will be cancelled on Wednesday only. All other school sites bus rides home are expected to run on time. We will notify you all with any changes to schedule.

As we prepare for the start of school, we ask for your patience if you registered your student to ride the bus for this school year. It is part of District regulations that your student's bus driver make contact with the parent to make sure the parent understands where and when their student will be picked up by the bus. Our drivers are working hard to contact the parents before the start of school tomorrow. However, we have had a large number of parents who registered their students today for bus pickup and drop-off. if you have not yet talked to your bus drive, you will need to provide transportation for your student until your bus driver is able to make contact with you. Good Evening, Belen Middle School Families! We are excited to see our scholars tomorrow! Remember, school starts at 7:10 am. Scholars will be allowed on campus to get breakfast starting at 7:00 am. School supplies will be provided so make sure your scholar has a backpack. We were short a few items, scholars will be given those items as soon as the shipment comes in. Scholar drop off is in front of the school on 4th street. Please make sure your scholar comes dressed appropriately. Crop tops, short shorts and any attire that is gang or drug related will not be allowed. Students will be asked to change if they do not meet dress code expectations. Please make sure your scholar wears their student ID at all times while on campus. If your scholar did not receive one, we will call them to the office this week to get one made. BMS: Belen Middle School Parents: Attention all Belen Middle School 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in participating in Belen Middle School Volleyball, open gyms will be held August 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th, and 10th from 2:30-4:30pm at the middle school gym. Mandatory tryouts will begin August 14th and end on August 18th and will be from 2:30-4:30. Please make sure that students have plenty of water and a snack for tryouts. Students must have a completed physical and all paperwork completed in Rank One in order to participate in open gyms.
I am happy to announce that the Belen Consolidated Schools has purchased all required school supplies for your scholar. I have compared the list I sent to the district office and all items have been included with the exception of a backpack and a bottle for water (if they choose). School supplies will be given to scholars on the first day of school through their 1st period classes. BMS Open House will be from 5:30-7:00 pm on Monday, July 31st. This will be a time when your scholar can find their classes and meet their teachers. The first day of school for scholars is Wednesday, August 2nd. Belen Middle School start time is 7:10 am. Belen Middle School Families: Just a reminder BMS Student schedules are ready for pick up. Eighth grade students will be able to pick up their schedules and complete renewal paperwork tomorrow, July 18th from 8:00 am-2:00 pm. Incoming 7th grade students can pick up their schedules on Wednesday, July 19th from 8:00 am-2:00 pm. A parent or guardian will need to accompany their scholar so renewal paperwork can be completed. We will be located in the Belen Middle School Media Center. Students will also need to come so they can take a picture for their BMS photo ID. See you soon!!!
