Hello La Merced Families, tomorrow the cafeteria will be providing a turkey roast lunch for a Thanksgiving meal for your children. Because of limited space, we will not be able to accommodate families to join their children at lunch time. However, I would like to invite our parents to a “Coffee with the Principal” event this Friday, 11/17 from 7:30-8:30 AM in our library to discuss how parents can continue to help moving La Merced forward and to answer questions you may have about the school. Thank you Robert Mond Principal

Hello La Merced Families, we will be having our Scholastic book fair, starting tomorrow, Sept 29 through Oct 6. The hours are from 8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. Parents and Guardians are welcomed to stop by for a visit. Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians of La Merced Thunderbirds, This Wednesday, Aug 30th, we will be conducting an evacuation drill between 9:45-10:30. This means all of our students will be walking to the First Presbyterian Church and back. Once we are there, we will take attendance and begin the walk back. Please make sure your child is wearing comfortable walking shoes and they continue to bring a water bottle on a daily basis. Both main roads that lead to La Merced will be closed during the drill. Please let us know if you have any concerns. I would also like to remind you that we have a before and after school program. Please check with our front office if you're interested.

Good morning Eagle Families, As education continues to evolve, it is imperative that we ensure our assessment methods align with the best interests of our students and the broader goals of their education. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition within the educational community about the potential impact of grading practices on student motivation, learning outcomes, and overall well-being. The educators in Belen Consolidated Schools, are committed to providing the best possible learning environment for our students. Thus, BCS is forming a committee that will critically examine our grading policies and recommend potential improvements. Eventually, the committee will involve various stakeholders, including teachers, students, parents, and administrative staff, to gather diverse perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of our current grading practices. To assist us in getting the process started please take the time to fill out this short 5 question survey, which will provide us with needed data. The survey can be accessed by using this link: https://forms.office.com/r/Hi7NDbcTrQ
