A reminder that Monday, June 19th is a recognized state holiday in honor of Juneteenth. All BCS sites will be closed that day in observance of the holiday.
GSE Families: Free summer breakfast and lunch program is available. Breakfast is from 8:30 am to 9:30 am and lunch is available from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Dinner is also served at St. Mary's from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
GSE Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year is on now open for your child here at Gil Sanchez Elementary. Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You will need to bring your child's birth certificate, up to date immunization records, Parent identification and proof of physical address (PO Boxes will not be accepted). Please share this message with those that have a kindergarten student starting next year. Please call the office at 505-966-1900 with any questions.

Important Reminders:
Next we have state testing for 3rd and 4th grade. It is so important for your child to attend. Please make every effort to have them here. Third grade tests on Monday and Tuesday, 4th grade will test on Wed. and Thursday.
When picking up your child in the drive through line after school-you must have your orange pick up card. I understand that most of the staff know you this late in the year. But sometimes different staff members are on duty and we are requiring that you have the card visible on your dash or window. This is to ensure the safety of your child. Thanks for your attention and cooperation with this. If you need a new card please come by the front office.

The program offers students in grades preK-8 from New Mexico Title I Schools access to free academic support from tutors on a secure platform. All Belen Consolidated Schools’ students who choose to participate will receive 20 hours of tutoring at no cost to families. GSE-Good afternoon families.
This a friendly reminder that tomorrow evening is our "Family Fall Fest" from 5:00pm-7:00 pm. Food and activities will all be free. All students joining us must have a parent/guardian attending with them. This is a family event so the more the merrier. We will not allow any students to attend that are not accompanied by an adult. Please dress warm as most of our activities will be outside. If you are able to donate, we are still in need cupcakes and packs of sodas.
Also, tomorrow evening will be the last chance to purchase $1.00 tickets for our awesome baskets. The drawings will be held tomorrow evening as well.

GSE-Dear Families, we will celebrate RED Ribbon Week next week, starting on Halloween- Monday, Oct. 31. Below is the schedule for our Red Ribbon Week dress up days. We will kick it off with Costumes on Monday. Your child is invited to wear their Halloween Costume, please NO bloody or gory costumes. Masks will be allowed during our Parade. If their costume is cumbersome for uncomfortable please send them with a change of clothes. Our Halloween Costume Parade will be held at 9:15 am on Monday the 31st. Your are invited to join us at 9:15 for our Parade. Then classes will resume as scheduled for the day.
GSE-Dismissal Pick up Procedures: Hello parents and guardians, this is a friendly reminder that when picking up your child in the car pick up line, you MUST have your yellow card VISIBLE to duty staff. Your child's safety is our number one priority. If we do not see the card, you will be asked to park and come to the office and show proper ID, before we can release your child.
If you need additional cards, please come by the office. Thanks for your attention and cooperation with this school procedure.
We are excited to kick off our Fall Fundraiser with our amazing basket raffles. We have something for all. Take a look at these amazing creations. Raffle tickets are now available for purchase. They are only $1.00 per chance to win the basket of your choice. Drawings will be held at our Fall Fest on Thursday, November 10th. From 5pm to 7pm. Winners do not have to be present to win. Students will be taking home tickets or you can come by our office. Our staff will have tickets as well. Please share. You are welcome to come by GSE if you would like to see the baskets in person.
