
Hello 6th grade parents:
We will be holding a spring immunization clinic for all 6th graders that need Tdap, Meningococcal and HPV (optional). These immunizations are required for enrollment in 7th grade. These spring immunization clinics will be held April 13th-19th (dates will vary depending on the school).
If you would like your student to receive these vaccines free of charge, please fill out and return the permission slip. Permission slips will be going home March 21st,the forms are due by April 4th. Reminder your student will not be able to enroll in 7th grade without these immunizations.

GSE: Good morning. All Belen Schools are on a two hour delay. Bus riders should be picked up 2 hours after their normal pick up time. Drop off for car riders will start at 10:35 AM. Please be safe as you travel this morning.

Free Tutoring for PreK-8 Students PED announces its new tutoring service in partnership with Paper that focuses on mathematics, language arts and science. The program offers students in grades preK-8 from New Mexico Title I Schools access to free academic support from tutors on a secure platform. All Belen Consolidated Schools’ students who choose to participate will receive 20 hours of tutoring at no cost to families. GSE-Good afternoon families.
This a friendly reminder that tomorrow evening is our "Family Fall Fest" from 5:00pm-7:00 pm. Food and activities will all be free. All students joining us must have a parent/guardian attending with them. This is a family event so the more the merrier. We will not allow any students to attend that are not accompanied by an adult. Please dress warm as most of our activities will be outside. If you are able to donate, we are still in need cupcakes and packs of sodas.
Also, tomorrow evening will be the last chance to purchase $1.00 tickets for our awesome baskets. The drawings will be held tomorrow evening as well.

Our Fall Fest is this Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00pm. We really hope you can join us. It a free event for all.
No school this Friday, Nov. 11th in honor of Veteran's Day.
Picture Retakes will be Tues. Nov. 15th.

GSE-Dear Families, we will celebrate RED Ribbon Week next week, starting on Halloween- Monday, Oct. 31. Below is the schedule for our Red Ribbon Week dress up days. We will kick it off with Costumes on Monday. Your child is invited to wear their Halloween Costume, please NO bloody or gory costumes. Masks will be allowed during our Parade. If their costume is cumbersome for uncomfortable please send them with a change of clothes. Our Halloween Costume Parade will be held at 9:15 am on Monday the 31st. Your are invited to join us at 9:15 for our Parade. Then classes will resume as scheduled for the day.

GSE-Updates and reminders:
Next Wednesday, October 12th is a full day of school for all.
Academic, Attendance and Character Awards will be given out that afternoon.
Report Cards should go out next week.
Our fundraiser is off to a great start, thanks to those that have already supported our school.
Thursday, October 13th is Picture Day. Order forms already went home. Please hold on to them until this day.
The week of October 17th we will start district wide K-12 testing with Galileo. This is a nationally normed test that will help us greatly with planning for your child's instruction. We will send a schedule soon with the testing dates. It is so important that your child attends on their scheduled testing days.

GSE-Dismissal Pick up Procedures: Hello parents and guardians, this is a friendly reminder that when picking up your child in the car pick up line, you MUST have your yellow card VISIBLE to duty staff. Your child's safety is our number one priority. If we do not see the card, you will be asked to park and come to the office and show proper ID, before we can release your child.
If you need additional cards, please come by the office. Thanks for your attention and cooperation with this school procedure.

We are excited to kick off our Fall Fundraiser with our amazing basket raffles. We have something for all. Take a look at these amazing creations. Raffle tickets are now available for purchase. They are only $1.00 per chance to win the basket of your choice. Drawings will be held at our Fall Fest on Thursday, November 10th. From 5pm to 7pm. Winners do not have to be present to win. Students will be taking home tickets or you can come by our office. Our staff will have tickets as well. Please share. You are welcome to come by GSE if you would like to see the baskets in person. Thanks for supporting our school!

GSE-We love that Double Cup Coffee is coming out to our site a few days a month. They are also thankful for your support.
All orders must be done prior to the start of school at 8:40am.
In order to make sure that students are on time and being safe ordering from the coffee truck we will be requiring that a parent must be present with any child that is buying a drink from the coffee truck. Their order must be in by 8:40 as well.
No orders will be taken for students past 8:40.

GSE-Families-The office at GSE will be closed to the public every Wednesday afternoon after early dismissal at 12:45. It will be closed for the remainder of the school year, so our office staff can attend professional development off site.
Also, we are looking for 3 parent volunteers to come every Friday to help with popping popcorn for popcorn sales. If you would like to volunteer please call the office at 505-966-1900, for more details.

GSE-We are so excited to welcome you back to school. Here are some important reminders to help our first day go as smoothly as possible:
Our Open House is tonight from 4:30-6:30 pm. Tomorrow, Wed. the 3rd, is the first day of school. It is an early release day, dismissal is at 12:45.
If you are driving your students to school, please remain in your vehicles and and follow the drop off car line. We have two lines in the morning. You can get in either line. We will start unloading cars at 8:35 am. Please do not drop off until our duty team is outside. The tardy bell is at 8:50 am. If you are tardy you must walk your child in and sign them in.
If pick up your child you must have a school issued pick up card. You can get these tonight at open house, or from the front office.
For after school pick up, please remain in your vehicle. You must have a pick up card issued from the school visible in your car prior to us releasing your child. Single pick ups will be in the north parking lot line, Siblings will be picked up together in the south parking lot line. Please do not walk up for dismissal, we will get your child to you as safely as we can.
For the first day, kinder parents can walk their children up to the front steps where the kinder teachers will be ready to receive them.
