GSE-We are so excited to welcome you back to school. Here are some important reminders to help our first day go as smoothly as possible:
Our Open House is tonight from 4:30-6:30 pm. Tomorrow, Wed. the 3rd, is the first day of school. It is an early release day, dismissal is at 12:45.
If you are driving your students to school, please remain in your vehicles and and follow the drop off car line. We have two lines in the morning. You can get in either line. We will start unloading cars at 8:35 am. Please do not drop off until our duty team is outside. The tardy bell is at 8:50 am. If you are tardy you must walk your child in and sign them in.
If pick up your child you must have a school issued pick up card. You can get these tonight at open house, or from the front office.
For after school pick up, please remain in your vehicle. You must have a pick up card issued from the school visible in your car prior to us releasing your child. Single pick ups will be in the north parking lot line, Siblings will be picked up together in the south parking lot line. Please do not walk up for dismissal, we will get your child to you as safely as we can.
For the first day, kinder parents can walk their children up to the front steps where the kinder teachers will be ready to receive them.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation in helping these next few days go as smoothly as possible.

GSE-Great news we would like to share with you all.
U.S. News & World Report: Public 2022 Recently published; the first-ever rankings of public elementary schools, and the news is good for Gil Sanchez Elementary: Gil Sanchez Elementary School placed among the top 30% of elementary schools in the state of New Mexico, making it to the U.S. News Best Elementary School. At Gil Sanchez Elementary, 57% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 52% scored at or above that level for reading. Rankings: Gil Sanchez Elementary is ranked #11 in New Mexico Elementary Schools. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare their students for high school. The top-ranked schools are high achieving ones that succeeded in educating all of their students. All data for the rankings are from third-party sources, including the U.S. Department of Education.
