Because of our recent outbreak of illness and the extremely high number of absences, we have decided to recommend (not require) indoor mask wearing at DCE. Masks are available to any student who asks for one.

We reviewed all of our students' permanent school files and discovered that several students were missing required documents. If your child is missing something from their permanent file, they took home a bright yellow paper today. Please ask them if they have a note for you and please bring in requested documents before the Winter Break. Thank you!

We are experiencing an uptick in student illness. Our custodians are deep cleaning and teachers are encouraging hand sanitizing. If your child is experiencing flu like symptoms or has a fever, please keep them home to help us stop the spread. Thank you!

We are starting our food drive from 11/7-11/16! Student Leadership is holding a contest for the grade level that receives the most donated non-perishable food items. Please bring in any items that you may have or would like to purchase to help those in need. The grade level that has the most donated items will get to choose a special treat! The treat will be pizza, ice cream sundaes, or hot chocolate and cookies. Good luck to all grade levels and let's help our community!

Good evening. Our costume parade is scheduled from 9:00-9:30 in the patio area. Parents are welcome to attend during this time. Visitors will be asked to exit campus after the parade. We look forward to having a fun day with our students!

Hello DCE families: Picture Retakes are coming to Dennis Chavez on November 10th. If you would like your student to have a retake you must fill out the form that has been sent home with your child and send on picture day. The office has extra copies if you would like to pick one up.

There is a correction to the flyer that went home yesterday. Number 5 should read "All entries must be in the cafeteria no later than 9:00 a.m. on MONDAY morning." tHANK YOU!

This afternoon we practiced a lock down drill. This was only a practice drill. Have a good afternoon!

Families we have a couple of reminders: Friday is Fall Picture Day at DCE, also next Wednesday, 10/12, is a FULL day of school.

Busses from DCE just left and all kids are on their way!

Good news! Busses will be here shortly. All students who are still here will be picked up soon and on their way. Thank you for your patience!

Update on busses: They are running a minimum of an hour late. If you would like to pick up your child please come to the front office with your ID. Thank you.

Good afternoon. Busses will be delayed today due to a situation at the high school. If your child normally rides the bus and you would like to pick them up please come to the front office with your ID.

Families the mosquitos are fierce on campus this morning. We will get the grounds sprayed but you might want to consider putting mosquito spray on your children this morning.

Announcing the return of popcorn and pickle sales at DCE! Orders are taken on Thursdays and passed out on Fridays. Both are $1 and sales begin tomorrow! Also just a friendly reminder our office is closed every Wednesday afternoon so our staff can attend training. Have a great afternoon.
