
BMS – IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
1) ALL students MUST wear a face mask while in school buildings. Face masks MUST cover the mouth and nose and fit snugly against the sides of the face. The types of allowable face masks include: 1. Face masks made of two or more layers of cloth. 2. Face masks with a clear plastic window. 3. Surgical, procedural, N95 or KN95 face masks that are approved by the FDA. The following face coverings are NOT substitutes for face masks: 1. Masks that have exhalation valves or vents 2. Bandanas 3. Scarves 4. Neck gaiters 5. Face shields.
2) Students are highly encouraged to bring a water bottle and a small bottle of hand sanitizer for personal use. Water fountains on campus may ONLY be used to fill up water bottles. Students may NOT drink out of water fountains.
3) Cell phones may ONLY be used for educational purposes. Students will NOT be allowed to have ear buds on while on campus.
4) Hats and hoodies are NOT allowed in school buildings.

Good Morning Belen Middle School Families: Eighth grade schedule pick up is set for Tuesday, July 27th from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. Seventh grade schedule pick up is set for Wednesday, July 28th from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. If you have not yet picked up a registration packet, please stop by today to get a packet. Registration packets must be completed in order to pick up a class schedule. Also, if you still have a school issued device, please turn it in with your registration packet. We will continue to follow the NMPED toolkit from the spring. All individuals MUST wear a face mask while on the BMS campus. Thanks!!

Good Afternoon BMS Families! Student device check in continues through Thursday, June 10th. If you have a school-issued laptop, I-Pad or Hotspot, please return items to BMS between 8:00 and 3:00. Please make sure you return the power cord with your school-issued device. If technology items are not returned, fees will be added to the student's PowerSchool account.
Also, Thursday and Friday will be half day for students. Students will be released at 11:30.

End of Year Reminders for BMS Families: Grades close on Monday, June 7th. The last day of school is on Friday, June 11th. Both Thursday, June 10th and Friday, June 11th will be half days for students. Students will be released at 11:30 am the last two days of school.

BMS Student Device Check-in will take place on Tuesday, June 8th for In-Person students. Remote learners will be able to turn in their device on Wednesday, June 9th and Thursday, June 10th during regular business hours from 8:00 to 3:00. BMS Families: Due to COVID-19 close contact exposure, Belen Middle School will be voluntarily moving to remote learning beginning tomorrow, Friday, May 21st through Wednesday, May 26th. Students will return to in person learning on Thursday, May 27th. Students are expected to follow their current schedule and attend classes virtually during this brief transition. BMS Families: The last regular day of school is Friday, June 11th. Belen Middle School will be offering three additional days of Extended Learning Monday, June 14th through Wednesday, June 16th. Transportation and meals will be provided for these three additional days. These days are optional for students. BMS Families! Next Friday, April 16th will be the last day to make changes in regards to In-Person and Remote learning. Students will not be allowed to switch after April 16th. Students that have chosen In-Person learning need to be on campus all four days each week to meet attendance requirements.
