https://5il.co/1liof Next week we begin the Middle of the Year testing window for IMSSA. We need all 3rd through 6th graders to be present and on time to school each day during the next 2 weeks! We are having an Attendance Challenge during these days of testing. Each day that a homeroom tests, students will be entered into a drawing to win a prize! The IMSSA testing is an important "checkpoint" to see how students are progressing towards learning the end of the year grade level standards. Students will test for Reading, Language Usage, and Math. The following link will provide further information on this important assessment. We are confident that are students will show positive growth! https://5il.co/1hd3g

Halloween is being celebrated tomorrow, Friday Oct. 28th at La Merced Elementary. Students may wear their Halloween costume to school. Please see that there are no weapons and that costumes are not gory. Students may have face paint and masks but must remove their mask while in the building. We will start the day with our Parade of Costumes and Contest at 9am. Each homeroom will parade about the campus with a stop in the cafeteria for the costume contest/judging. Each homeroom has a scheduled time for a hayride and a visit through our Pumpkin Patch. Each student will pick their own pumpkin. Parents/families are welcome to attend our morning's festivities but will not be allowed on the hayride. We are limiting our guests to just 2 family members per student. All visitors will need to check in at the office and be listed on the student's demographics. Parking will be limited to the dirt lot on the west side of the school and along the fence line. Please do not park in the visitor parking lot.

Good afternoon La Merced families. If your student rides bus # 1501, they are going to be running the route backwards due to the construction on Highway 47. Your student may get home earlier or up to 45 minutes later than usually. Thank you.
