As we prepare for the upcoming school year there are many uncertainties. Belen Consolidated Schools is working on preparing for students to re-enter school in the fall. The Public Education Department is working with a task force to provide guidance. The link to access the 2020-2021 Student Calendar that was approved by the School Board is: https://go.aws/37m3V2p. We are anticipating that we will start school as scheduled on August 18th. We are hopeful that it will be in-person with all our students but are preparing for variations that may need to take place do to COVID-19 CDC guidelines. We recognize that students are our foundation and will make decisions that positively impact their learning and well-being.
HTJ Community: Education packets are available on the BCS website. Under our site, HT Jaramillo Elementary, click on menu and then education packets. They are grouped by grade level or team. Contact your child’s teacher if you need support. You will also find the April and May school menu, and the 2020-2021 school year calendar.
HTJ Family: Kindergarten registration has started. Registration packets can be picked up at the front of the school starting Monday, April 27 – there will be a container outside the front doors labeled “Kindergarten Registration Packets”. Update on student meals during the 3-week closure: BCS will deliver meals to our students. BCS school buses will be delivering meals on their normal routes beginning today (Wednesday, March 18). Thank you BCS Transportation and all BCS employees for everything you are doing to ensure our students are well fed.
BCS will provide the opportunity for families to pick up breakfast and lunch meals for their children during the 3-week school closure; Mon-Fri, March 16 - April 3 meals can be picked up at school sites between 10:30 AM-12:30 PM. Students will receive their lunch along with the following morning's breakfast. Meals are free of charge for children between ages 1-18. Students must be present to claim their meal. Pick-up sites do not have to be the students home school, they can select the most convenient site. Adult meals will not be available for purchase.
