Sinceramente Lawrence Sanchez

The individual was last on campus on November 30, 2020. There is no closed contact exposure. This letter is to inform you about the next steps necessary to protect your child and our community from COVID-19. Per guidance from both NMPED and NMDOH, we are required to investigate to see who had “close contact” with the staff member or student who tested positive for COVID-19. A “close contact” is defined as being closer than six feet for more than three minutes to a person who is positive for COVID-19 and all staff and students who were in the same classroom or on the same bus as the infected individual. All students who were close contacts are strongly encouraged to be tested. Both staff and student close contacts must self-quarantine at home for 14 days, regardless of the test result. In the meantime, if you or your child begin to develop symptoms of COVID-19, which are fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of smell or taste, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea [https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019- ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html], please call your healthcare provider or the COVID-19 Hotline at 1-855-600-3453. They may also refer you to a testing clinic. Areas of the school (including buses) in which the COVID-19 positive individual spent time will be cleaned and disinfected and those who were close contacts of the positive case will be notified. Please continue to send your child to school unless you are notified that your child was a close contact of a positive COVID-19 individual, your child develops COVID-19 symptoms, or your child has a positive COVID-19 test. Likewise, your household members do not need to quarantine unless your child tests positive for COVID-19 or your household members are identified as a close contact of a positive COVID-19 individual. Good afternoon H TJ Families. In order to keep our students, families and HTJ staff members safe and healthy, and to follow COVID-19 protocol guidelines and procedures, on Friday, October 30, HTJ will not be celebrating Halloween: teachers will not be having classroom parties; and, candy and food items will not be passed out. We ask that our families please do not send candy or food items to school to pass out to classmates and staff members; and, our staff members have also been asked to not pass out food items or candy. Your help in keeping everyone safe and healthy is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good afternoon HTJ Families. On Monday, October 19 the City of Belen will be turning off the water to our school in order to make some necessary repairs. As a result of this repair work needing to be done, all staff and students are being asked to stay home. Your child's teacher will be in contact with you with regards to logging into Schoology and completing any school work that needs to be done for the day. Again, we are asking that all staff and students stay home, do not report to school, on Monday, October 19 due to the City of Belen having to shut the water off at our school site. I apologize if causes any inconvenience, but I thank you for your patience and understanding. We will see everyone on Tuesday, October 20. Have a safe and healthy weekend. Mrs. Becker, Principal, HTJ

Hello HTJ Families: I hope this message finds you safe and healthy. I want to send a reminder to families that school is in session 5 days a week (Mon - Fri). And, even though your children only attend in-person learning 2 days a week, they must still log onto Schoology the other 3 days to complete any assignments and watch any videos the teachers have uploaded. Doing this has many benefits for you and your children: staying caught up with school work; receiving credit or grades for completing assignments; and, being proud of yourself for taking responsibility and ownership for completed assignments. The teachers will be taking attendance on the 3 days your children are not attending in-person learning. Therefore, it is very important, that on the 3 days your children are at home, they log onto Schoology all 3 days and complete all assignments for each day. If your children do not log onto Schoology and complete assigments on the 3 days they are not attending in-person learning it is considered an absence and will be marked as such, and credit or grades will not be given. If you have any concerns or questions please talk to your children's teacher or call the school office at (505) 966-2000. Thank you and have a Great Eaglet Day! Mrs. Becker, Principal
