All students will be photographed individually and you will receive a proof to see your student's photo in about a week. Did you know admission to the Natural History History Museum is FREE for all Valencia County residence for the month of February?!? This includes admission to the planetarium! The Good News Club will be starting at DCE! The club will meet on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:15. If you would like your child to participate, please send them to the office to pick up a permission slip.
A false 911 call was made from bus 2702 this morning. As a result, an officer came onto the bus and was able to pinpoint where the call came from. Students were safe and all issues were resolved.
A student made a verbal threat today. Due diligence was done, action taken and there was no danger to any students or staff.

Report cards will go home on Thursday 1/12. We will have an academic assembly honoring academic excellence on 1/27. Criteria for 4th-6th grades is no more than one B for the semester; criteria for K-3 is scoring a 4 or higher on istation testing. Parents of students meeting these standards will receive an invitation to the assembly later in the month. We had great student attendance today! Help us keep up the good work!
Free Tutoring for PreK-8 Students
PED announces its new tutoring service in partnership with Paper that focuses on mathematics, language arts and science. The program offers students in grades preK-8 from New Mexico Title I Schools access to free academic support from tutors on a secure platform. All Belen Consolidated Schools’ students who choose to participate will receive 20 hours of tutoring at no cost to families. Features include:
• Virtual tutoring.
• Can be scheduled before, after or during school.
• All learning abilities.

Because of our recent outbreak of illness and the extremely high number of absences, we have decided to recommend (not require) indoor mask wearing at DCE. Masks are available to any student who asks for one.
We reviewed all of our students' permanent school files and discovered that several students were missing required documents. If your child is missing something from their permanent file, they took home a bright yellow paper today. Please ask them if they have a note for you and please bring in requested documents before the Winter Break. Thank you!
