Our pick up line gets smoother every day! Thank you for cooperating and accessing the line from 10th street. As cars turn NORTH onto Romero street we encourage you to begin to form TWO lines. The line on the right should be PURPLE cards and the line on the left BLUE. Please allow enough space for this to happen. We believe this will be the most efficient way to ease the wait time in the pick up line.
DCE Families~ What a wonderful first day on our new campus! Teachers were happy and kids were smiling and many systems worked really well. We have some reminders for arrival and dismissal time. All access to the pick up line needs to come from 10th street. There is NO ACCESS from the McDonalds/Main Street Area. We plan to have security presence to help us with that. We ask that all loading and unloading of students happens on the passenger side of the vehicles. Your cooperation will help us facilitate drop off and pick up safely and efficiently. We were notified the morning bus stops for bus 1903 will be 15 minutes EARLIER than today. Please have them out sooner. Thank you and we look forward to tomorrow.
Hello Families! The DCE open house is from 5:30-7:00 this evening. We are learning that the district may have listed our start time as 5:00, however that is incorrect. Our teachers will be ready to greet families at 5:30. Sorry for any miscommunication and we will see you at 5:30!
We look forward to seeing you all this week! Open House is 8/2, 5:30-6:45. A principals message will play at 6:00 in all classrooms. We will begin to clear campus at 6:45. First day of school is 8/3. Drop off begins at 8:35 and it is Early Release at 12:30. Normal student dismissal is at 4:00. See you soon!
School starts next Wednesday, August 3! School hours are the same as last year 8:35am-4:00pm. Open House is Tuesday, August 2, 5:30-7:00pm with a message from the principal at 6:00. This is a great time to meet the teacher, tour the school and drop off supplies. We will also hand out registration packets. We are still registering kindergarten students daily from 8:00-4:00. If you know any families with incoming kindergarteners please spread the word! Don't forget we are moved into our new location at 900 Esperanza Dr. See you soon!
Do you want to avoid long drop off and pick up lines AND save on gas? We encourage you to take advantage of the BCS transportation services! To sign your children up for the school bus come by our office or stop by the transportation office located at 650 E. River Rd.

We are looking for lunch duty aids to help with student supervision during daily lunches. It is a great part time job and an opportunity to be involved in your child's school atmosphere! It is 2 hours per day at $15/hr. Call DCE at 966-1800 if you are interested!

Good Afternoon! Our office will be closed from June 30 through July 5. We will reopen to the public July 6 and resume normal business hours of 8-4. Thank you and have a happy and safe July 4th weekend.
Good Morning DCE Families and Happy First Day of Summer! We wanted to remind you that DCE has moved to our new location at 900 Esperanza Dr. for the next two school years. We are open daily from 8:30-4:00, and our phone numbers remain the same 966-1800. If you know any families with incoming DCE Kindergarteners have them come by the office for a registration packet. Our goal is to have 30 kinders registered by the end of June!

You can come by our office or go to the Bus Compound at 650 E. River Road for a ridership form. All completed forms need to be returned to the Bus Compound. The sooner they are turned in, the sooner they can secure enough busses, drivers and plan their routes!

Good Morning Roadrunner Families. The DCE office will be closed today, Monday, June 6 while we relocate the office to the new site. We will reopen on Tuesday, June 7 at the new Dennis Chavez South location. Our new location is in the old HTJ building located at 900 Esperanza Drive. We will be conducting all business at the new site moving forward until our new school is built. Our phone numbers will remain the same and the phone lines should be active starting Tuesday. This is an exciting and busy time for DCE and we look forward to new adventures!
We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer vacation. Report cards will be mailed out. If any student is missing a library book they will need to be returned or paid for before the report card goes out. If you child was absent and did not receive their summer packet we have them in the office next week if you would like to come pick them up. Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to next year!
Today we hosted a successful meet and greet where our students met next year's teachers and picked up a packet of information including a supply list, a map of the new site and a few activities to keep their brain's active over the summer. Teachers collaborated with the principal for class placements to create the most balanced class lists and set each grade level up for success! We would like to wish everyone a safe and restful summer and we look forward to seeing everyone next year! Also please remember tomorrow is an early release day with a 12:30 dismissal. Thank you!
