We had a minor medical emergency. EMS was called. All protocols were followed for the safety of our students and staff. Instruction continues as normal.

Central Families, We will be having our Muffins for Moms event tomorrow from 8:10-8:50am. We will also be having our Career Day from 1-3pm. We will have a food truck as one of our guests and students will be allowed to buy if they would like. Agua Frescas will be $3. Plates range from $6-$13. Dear Central Families. Can you please be checking your child’s backpacks for any toys are any inappropriate items that should not bringing to school. We want to make sure that they are not bringing items they are not supposed to. This is also a great time to clean backpacks out so that teachers can send books and completed work. Central Famlies, Please get your yearbook orders in. The deadline is April 19, 2024. If we don't have at least fifty sold we will be unable to order it. We are currently at about twenty-five sold. The cost is twenty dollars. Thank you so much for your support. Ms. Garcia, Principal.

Central Families, We have been provided the below safety guidelines for Monday: Safety guidelines for the Solar Eclipse occurring on Monday April 8, 2024, for Belen Consolidated Schools - Elementary Sites that for recess use your procedures for inclement weather and students stay inside. Students will stay inside for lunch recess as to not damage their eyes from the Solar Eclipse. Parents also know that they are still filming near CES and so parents will exit through the bus lane and buses will drop off on Picard. Ross will be closed again for filming. Please don't forget to attend Donuts for Dads on Friday April 12th from 8:10-8:50am. Also, we start testing this week so please have your child here on time and present for the next two weeks. Central Families, They will be filming a movie by Central Elementary on April 4th and April 8th. School buses will be dropping students on Picard. Parents will still use the drop off lane but will drive through the bus lane back onto Picard to exit. We appreciate your patience on these two days. Thank you!

Good afternoon, Eagle Families, Gas Company of New Mexico has finished checking the gas lines at Central Elementary and have found no leaks which is good news. School will resume as normal tomorrow.

Central Families, Thank you parents, staff, and students! Parents you were amazing today for our evacuation. We appreciate you coming for your child in a timely manner. We appreciated your patience and understanding. We are still investigating the situation and hope to know something soon. I will keep you updated if we will or will not be having school tomorrow. When we return we will be asking you to give us updated phone numbers once again as we did have some difficulty getting a hold of some families/guardians. Thank you once again. Good morning Eagle families, We continue to have a gas smell at Central Elementary. As a precautionary measure, the Belen Fire Department has asked us to evacuate the building to ensure that the building is safe before allowing students and staff to renter the building. We are asking that students be picked up at this time as we do not anticipate being allowed back into the building today while we wait for the building to be assessed. The area around Central Elementary is blocked off, but Ross Street is open to allow for student pickup. If you have questions please call (505) 966-1000.

There was a report of a weapon on campus today. The school took the necessary precautions with the Belen Police Department. The Belen Police Department was notified immediately. We were told to put the school on lockdown. The matter was thoroughly investigated. The Belen Police Department has cleared the school of any threats. The safety of our students, staff, and campus is our utmost priority. We take all threats seriously.
