Good evening Eagle families!
For the 2023-2024 school year, Belen High School is implementing a Positive Behavior Interventions System where students can earn points for doing well while at school. Points will be earned for things like good academic performance, good behavior, kind gestures, service learning projects, and positive attendance trends.
Each 4.5 week period, student points will be used to gain entry into various assemblies and school hosted activities each month.
Please read the attached guidelines on more information on how the point accumulation system will work:
https://5il.co/23vll
The first point check-in date will be Friday, September 8th, where students will need a minimum of 20 points to participate in school hosted activities from September 11th-October 6th. If a student is short some points after September 8th, they may participate in some of our upcoming service learning projects that we will be hosting throughout the month of September.

Good morning Eagle Families,
As education continues to evolve, it is imperative that we ensure our assessment methods align with the best interests of our students and the broader goals of their education.
In recent years, there has been a growing recognition within the educational community about the potential impact of grading practices on student motivation, learning outcomes, and overall well-being.
The educators in Belen Consolidated Schools, are committed to providing the best possible learning environment for our students. Thus, BCS is forming a committee that will critically examine our grading policies and recommend potential improvements. Eventually, the committee will involve various stakeholders, including teachers, students, parents, and administrative staff, to gather diverse perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of our current grading practices.
To assist us in getting the process started please take the time to fill out this short 5 question survey, which will provide us with needed data. The survey can be accessed by using this link: https://forms.office.com/r/Hi7NDbcTrQ
Hello Eagle Families!
Tomorrow, August 10th, will be the last day to request a schedule change and to purchase a parking pass. Starting next week, we will be enforcing parking pass regulations. Students who do not have a proper 23/24 BHS parking pass will not be allowed to park on campus.
Belen HS will dismiss now
BHS Families,
Thank you for your patience. As we await notification that roads will reopen, students will remain indoors with air conditioning, rather than be in the sun waiting for busses or their parents to arrive. This allows for students to be more comfortable and the environment controlled until we have the go ahead that roads are open and accessible. We will dismiss as soon as possible
BHS Families, BHS Dismissal will be delayed. We have been told due to road closures throughout the city, we will not have the ability to access nearby roads to exit campus. We will hold students inside until we are able to have students access exit routes.
We are hopeful this will not take long.
Good afternoon, Eagle Families
We have been told that we can expect a 20-30 minute delay in bus drop off of students at B H S, B M S and I H S. This delay may also affect elementary students, We will update you as more information becomes available.
Good afternoon Eagle Parents! Due to time delays with the President Biden's visit, Busses may be delayed for this afternoon ride home. We are waiting for road closure schedule changes now and will update with any information as soon as we have it. Thanks!!

Good evening Eagle Families!
Day 2 is in the books, and we want to begin sharing our gratitude to our families for working together to improve the morning traffic today by 20+ minutes by following the traffic flow procedures!
Next, our counseling team is working diligently through schedule change requests the past few days, and we ask for and thank you for patience as they work through all of these.
Lastly, any junior or senior who has a free period on their schedule and would like to leave campus during this time period may stop by the front office to pick-up a permission to leave campus form beginning tomorrow. That slip, plus a copy of the student's schedule will allow the student to leave campus during their free period(s). Parents, if you do not wish to have your student leave campus during their free period, please contact the school at 505 966 1300 to inform us.
Thank you all and we'll see you tomorrow for our first Friday of the school year!
Good evening Eagle families!
We would like to thank all of our students, staff, and families for a great first day back at BHS. Tomorrow students will be going through their normal B-Day schedule, 1B 2B Student Development 3B Lunch 4B. Students will need their laptop and ID everyday.
In order to help the morning traffic flow move faster for all, we are asking that student drivers enter the Eagle Lane gate and proceed around the 700 building to the student parking lot. For Student Drop-offs, Please pull all the way through to the east end of the drop-off lane or up to the next stopped car in the lane before letting your student out of the vehicle. By following these procedures we will prevent the long line down Delgado each morning and reduce the amount of time families will spend in line in the morning by quite a bit.
Again, thank you for a great first day!
Good evening, Eagle Families,
As we prepare for the start of school, we ask for your patience if you registered your student to ride the bus for this school year. It is part of District regulations that your student's bus driver make contact with the parent to make sure the parent understands where and when their student will be picked up by the bus. Our drivers are working hard to contact the parents before the start of school tomorrow. However, we have had a large number of parents who registered their students today for bus pickup and drop-off. if you have not yet talked to your bus drive, you will need to provide transportation for your student until your bus driver is able to make contact with you. If you have questions, please call our transportation department at 505-966-1176.
