Good afternoon Eagle Families, BHS senior Gianna Nilvo was recognized as one of the winners of the 2024 New Mexico Excellence in STEM Awards, given out by the New Mexico Academy of Science.. The award, known as The STEMYS, honors students, teachers, volunteers, and other New Mexicans who showed excellence in science, technology, engineering, and math. The Student Success and Wellness Bureau is happy to announce the release of the Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) website and application! Directly certified students that are currently participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and in some cases Medicaid (not all categories of Medicaid qualify) are automatically enrolled to receive a SUN Bucks card with the $120 benefit per student. Students who are Homeless/Runaway, Foster, Migrant, and Head Start are also automatically enrolled and do not have to apply. All other students that are not categorically eligible, including students attending a CEP school will need to apply to participate in the SUN Bucks EBT program. Belen High School boys will be having a kid's camp in June. Coaches and players will be teaching fundamental skills to our youth that attend. Each camper will receive a basketball and there will be fun games for the kids and awards.

FREE Summer Reading Program Application for ALL NM Students K-8 The Summer Reading Program is a literacy instruction and intervention program that will support 10,000 New Mexico students from incoming kindergarteners through outgoing eighth graders. This is a mental health resource for parents and provides parents a trusted place to go for real answers, to find support and real help for their children. This FREE resource offers parents access to licensed therapists delivering different courses for parents on topics like living with a child with depression, identifying anxiety, coping with grief and loss.
