As we gear up for the new school year, I wanted to let you know that we are getting ready for the remote/hybrid learning model. -Teachers will return on August 25th. -Students will begin the remote learning starting Aug. 31. -The hybrid model (which is what FS is already doing) will start Sept 8th. Teachers will be calling/setting up times to discuss what your student's day/details will look like regarding the remote learning when they return. The hybrid model will look exactly like our schedule, except - the 1/2 day Wednesday will be removed for deep cleaning/planning/updates. Please visit the "documents" folder on our website to get additional information regarding Instruction and Remote Learning Policy. It is our goal at Family School to provide the best education for your student(s)/family. Family School Parents/Teachers/Students: As the Principal of the Alternative Schools, I wanted to let everyone know that we are doing our best to plan and move forward with the new school year. There is a lot of unknowns and valid concerns from every person and family. I am a firm believer of staying positive and doing our best with whatever our situation is... The survey is designed to get an idea of what people need/want for their students/child(ren). Please know if you want 100% online learning - we WILL offer it to you and your student... As I mentioned that we are all working diligently given the situation...like you, I want to plan and ensure everything is order...unfortunately, I am not able to have solid plans and provide answers to every concern at this time... However, if we look forward, stay positive and figure out together ways to help educate our children - we won't fail! Good morning, Family School: On Tuesday, July 7th will be Freshman orientation and course planning for Family School students planning on attending BHS starting at 10:00 am in the BHS auditorium. During this time - students will be given a tour, class/student information (email, Xello, Teams, Power School, etc) which will all be explained on Tuesday, July 7th. Please remember we will continue to practice social distancing and the guidelines that are set forth by the state. Mr. Sanchez and I will be in attendance to answer all the questions you have for your student. If you are not able to make this time frame, please do not worry - we will schedule another day for students/parents to do so. As we prepare for the upcoming school year there are many uncertainties. Belen Consolidated Schools is working on preparing for students to re-enter school in the fall. The Public Education Department is working with a task force to provide guidance. The link to access the 2020-2021 Student Calendar that was approved by the School Board is: https://go.aws/37m3V2p. We are anticipating that we will start school as scheduled on August 18th. We are hopeful that it will be in-person with all our students but are preparing for variations that may need to take place do to COVID-19 CDC guidelines. We recognize that students are our foundation and will make decisions that positively impact their learning and well-being.

Hello Family School Students and Parents! Happy June! I hope everyone is doing well! I have a few updates and want to keep you posted that we are moving forward with returning in August.
