The 2023 4A New Mexico State Wrestling Champion Belen Eagles were recognized at the New Mexico Roundhouse in the Senate Chamber by State Senators Joshua Sanchez and Greg Baca on Wednesday, March 8. The wrestlers and coaches were introduced and recognized by the Senate as a whole. Senators Sanchez and Baca shared words of encouragement and congratulations with the wrestlers and the coaches. In addition, Belen native Senator Antoinette Sedillo Lopez along with Senator, and former BMS teacher, Leo Jaramillo personally congratulated the team on the Senate floor.
