Belen Consolidated Schools Prepares for an Exciting 2023-2024 School Year
As the 2023-2024 school year approaches, Belen Consolidated Schools (BCS) is gearing up for an array of exciting initiatives and events throughout the district.
Collaborative Active Shooter Drill at Dennis Chavez Elementary School Site
BCS successfully partnered with various metro area agencies to conduct an active shooter drill at the former site of Dennis Chavez Elementary school. The drill witnessed active participation from esteemed organizations including the City of Belen Fire and Police Departments, Rio Communities Fire Department, Valencia County Sheriffs and Emergency Services Departments, Canon Christian Academy, as well as personnel from federal and state agencies. The event exemplified the significance of cooperation and preparedness in ensuring the safety and security of students and staff.
Warm Welcome to New Employees
In a heartfelt gesture, BCS extended a warm welcome to new employees with a comprehensive district orientation and training day. The event culminated in a delightful luncheon held at the Tierra del Sol Golf Club, generously sponsored by the Greater Belen Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) in collaboration with BCS. The attendees were treated to a delicious lunch prepared by the Oasis Cafe and inspired by the encouraging words from prominent speakers such as GBCC's Rhona Espinoza, CEMCO Inc. President and Owner, Mr. Neil Hise, UNM VC Chancellor Dr. Samuel Dosumu, and BCS Superintendent Mr. Lawrence Sanchez.
Free School Supplies for All Students
As part of its commitment to supporting students and their families, BCS is pleased to announce the provision of free school supplies to all enrolled students. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure that every student has the essential tools required for a successful academic journey.
