Good afternoon, There has been a rash of messages on social media regarding the possibility of a school shooting happening tomorrow at all BCS sites including one that is no longer in existence. I want to assure you that we take all such reports seriously no matter how farfetched they may seem. In working with Belen PD, we have found no evidence to substantiate these claims. We will continue to remain on alert. If you become aware of any new information please share with Belen PD.

CES Families, Our staff is aware of rumors surrounding Central ES. We take threats and safety very seriously. After investigating we believe no cause for concern exists. Staff will follow up throughout the night with this incident. If anything is seen on social media or mentioned, please forward the information to law enforcement and CES administration ASAP. Central Families, We had to go into a Shelter in Place this afternoon as there was a small fire near our campus. All students were safe and it was lifted prior to dismissal. Thank you, Ms. Garcia-Principal

It has been a busy and fun month! We recognized students’ success on state testing during our August assembly. The theme this year is "Success Train." Students that were proficient & advanced in ELA & Math received a candy train and tracks to let them know that that their train is on track. This month we also recognized positive behavior with snow cones & lunch dance parties. Central Families, Central ES basketball is underway. We are rocking and rolling with enough players for our boys team. However, we need more players for our girls team. Please encourage your child to join if interested. Our girls team placed 2nd last year. Thank you, Ms. Garcia

Central Families, This morning the staff was being trained in a new emergency application and dispatch was called when we were only testing the application. We do have a fire drill scheduled for later this morning so know that we will have the fire department on campus later today. Thank you.
