Jim Danner – President 

Jim is a resident of Belen and attended the Belen Schools from 1st grade on through 12th grade, graduating from Belen High School in 1962. He continued his education and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education. Not only is Mr. Danner a former student/graduate of Belen Schools, he is also a former Teacher from Belen High School, and has worked for the Belen Schools as a Coach, Principal, and Athletic Coordinator. Mr. Danner is married to Sarah and has two children, one daughter and one son who are both graduates of Belen High School and the University of New Mexico. He also has five grandchildren that he enjoys spending time with.

Cecelia Yvonne McCloud - Vice President 

Yvonne is a lifelong resident of Jarales, NM. She attended St. Mary’s from 1st-6th grade and transferred to Belen Junior High. She Graduated from Belen High School in 1974. Yvonne attended New Mexico Highlands University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Bilingual Elementary Education as well as receiving her Licensures in Early Childhood Education. Yvonne was an educator for 36 years for the Belen Consolidated School District and was also a teacher for preschool through NM Cap for 3 years. Mrs. McCloud was an active member of the NEA and served many years on the executive board, the negotiating team, as well as the grievance chairman. She has two children whom both graduated from Belen High School and has been married to Randal McCloud for 40 years. As a board member Mrs. McCloud is passionate about student growth and success.

Elizabeth (Lisa) Chavez –   Secretary  

Lisa is a lifelong resident of Valencia County. She attended Belen Schools and graduated from Belen High in 1979. Lisa received her BA in Elementary Education and her MA in Special Education from the University of New Mexico. Lisa worked for Belen Schools as a special education teacher for over thirty years. She has taught at both the Elementary and Secondary Level. She also coached Girls Softball for ten years. Lisa has always believed in being active in her community and in being an advocate for children. She has been a volunteer youth coach for softball, soccer and basketball. She is currently serving as a board member for Adelante Development Center and also serves on the Belen Martin Luther King Multicultural Commission. Lisa is married to Marty Chavez and has two daughters, Nicole and Martina, both of whom graduated from Belen High School and went on to earn their college degrees. She looks forward to working on behalf of the district’s students, parents and employees toward improved student achievement and academic success.

Larry Lindberg – Member 

Larry was born in Kansas City, MO. He has lived in Belen for over ten years. Mr. Lindberg's a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the university of Kansas and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Illinois. He retired from the U.S. Marshall Service and from the U.S. Army Reserve. Mr. Lindberg is married to Dorothy and has three children and four grandchildren. 

Max Cordova – Member 

Max is a lifelong resident of Belen NM. He attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Belen High School in 1967. He attended the University of New Mexico Valencia Campus and completed several computer and business courses. He has three children and eight grandchildren. Max was employed by the Belen Schools for eleven years. The last three years of his career he served as the Facilities Project Coordinator. He managed and oversaw the following major projects: The facilities budget, the architectural development and construction of the football and baseball field houses, the BHS Career Academy, the Infinity High School, and other various construction projects. As a Belen School Board member, Max's number one priority is to prepare students for a successful future. He plans to accomplish this by ensuring students receive the best education possible and, by also supporting teachers along with the entire Belen School District workforce.
