Ms. Rebekah GutierrezSixth graders are expected to be able to do many things as they prepare for the middle school.
- On a practical note, they should be able to put their name on a paper and take pride in their own work.
- Students need to become responsible for turning in their work, which they have completed to the best of their ability. This is a key clue when I look to see who needs additional help in any subject area.
- It is expected that all students in my classroom have the ability to learn and that they will put forth effort in their own education. It is all right to say "I don't know something" temporarily, but make the effort to figure out the learning you are struggling with.
- I expect students to make mistakes- everyone does- but to recognize and fix mistakes when possible. Mistakes are a learning tool, without them our world would not be as complex as it is today.
